2D:

The 2D section currently contains full digital paintings, speed paintings, mattes and composites. For those that don't know - a full/speed digital painting is an image drawn entirely by hand with a graphics tablet and pen.
A matte/composite is an image made up of a mix of one or more photographs, painting and often 3D elements.

Technically, the definition of a matte painting is:

"a "virtual set" / "digital backlot". They can be used to create entire new sets, or to extend portions of an existing set. Traditional matte painting is done optically, by painting on top of a piece of glass to be composited with the original footage. Nowadays, matte painting is done in computers with the use of a tablet as a drawing device. In a digital environment, matte paintings can also be done in a 3-D environment, allowing for 3-D camera movements."

- Definition above from Wikipedia.

...but a lot of my work will never be used in film and isn't necessarily a 'backdrop' or 'set' - simply, a composition of photographs and painting, ending up with a new image and often containing a foreground, middle and background.

Photography:

This section is fairly self explanatory. Some of the photos are untouched (apart from resizing) while others have had some post processing done. With my changeover to a DSLR camera, much of this will be done at the RAW stage.

The post processing ranges from subtle brightness/contrast adjustments, speck/noise removal, straightening..etc to fully reworked images, done in Photoshop.

The largely processed images would have changes made to them such as: Extreme noise removal (or the addition of noise), changes to brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, Levels, curves, colour balance, sharpening/softening..etc.

Misc:

The Misc section could really be classed as 2D but I wanted to keep it seperate for a reason, which is, for content that is more than just imagery.

This section is for the likes of specially designed fonts, posters, restored photos, signatures, banners, advertising content, business cards, album covers..and any project along those lines.

If you like what you see and need similar design work done, please don't hesitate to email me with details.
